I am very fortunate to work in an environment. We all treat one another with kindness and respect, and laughter flows freely and often.
I have a nice cubicle space with a window and easy mobility area. I have decorated it with items that make me smile, laugh and keep anxiety to a point of almost non existent: I cut pictures of cute animals from the newspaper and tape them to a soft board, pictures of my family and pets surround my desk and vases of artificial flowers among some real flowers adorn the space before the window.
I feel instant serenity the moment I sit at my desk and begin to work. Any challenge that may pop up is not so tough when your surroundings are peaceful.
What can you do (no matter how small it may be), to make your surrounding a more serene place for you? How would you decorate your space?
